Blurby Bike e-bikes are also known as pedelecs. Do you know what exactly does pedelec mean and how to tell if a bicycle is a pedelec?
The main features of a pedelec – and therefore a Blurby Bike – are:
- A pedelec is an electric bicycle, which can assist and help you with motor assist while you pedal. But the motor will only help during pedaling and there is no throttle button to activate the motor without pedaling.
- These bikes are fitted with a torque sensor. This sensor senses when you're pedalling and activates the motor according to your strength of pedalling.
- If a pedelec's battery is running low, or you just don't want to use the assist, you can use the bike as a conventional bicycle.
- The quiet operation of the Blurby Bike Pedelec and its battery hidden in the frame make it impossible for an outsider to tell you're on an electric bike.
- Pedelec bikes are set to a maximum motor assist speed of 25 km/h, in line with EU regulation. So you can ride it under the same rules as any other bike.
In a nutshell, the Blurby pedelec has all the benefits of cycling: avoiding crowded public transport, exercising in the fresh air and relieving stress. It also eliminates the unpleasant side effects of traditional cycling, such as the sweating and fatigue you get on a ride. 🙂
